Paperwork first week

my first week studying at lcc with my first rotation being paperwork. Each task featured a technique of animation, straight ahead and pose to pose with the last combining the two.

For the first task i wanted to see where my imagination lead me. What i enjoyed is the way it feels like fluid then spliting off into seperate bits. What I’d change looking back is making a more contrasting change such as using angles and straight lines.

For the second task I had to create a pose to pose animation around a face. My three key frames were neutral, excited and happy. What I would have done different would be to have a more varied last key frame as both the excited and happy key frames look very similar at a first glance which as a result makes it hard for the viewer to see the difference.

For the final task I combined the skills I had gained in the first task and the animation in the second task to create a fluid background around the face animation. I took this as a changing background and made a visual of the emotions felt in each frame as it progressed. Using solid rectangles for neutral which morphed into stars for excited and for happy transformed into loose strands which travelled off. What I enjoyed is being able to visually represent the key frames or emotions I had chosen for my face animation and as well as this working with the different speeds of each frame and layering both ontop of eachotjer for the final animation. What I would have changed is showing more moving such as the rectangles not just stopping in place but some morphing into stars ahead of others. Overall for my first week of tasks i feel I’ve been able to understand the two types of animation and as a result will be working upon these skills moving forward, taking into consideration what I would have changed looking back.
